The Miami Downtown Development Authority and the Miami Dade Bar are collaborating to educate the public about the process through which businesses obtain the proper permits to operate in Downtown Miami. As Miami experiences record growth, navigating the halls of government is essential to getting to work. This partnership will provide detailed, step-by-step instructions enabling entrepreneurs to hit the ground running.
Best of all, the service is available for no cost to attendees through a special grant from our partner at the Miami Downtown Development Authority.

The Permit Practicum started by the Miami-Dade Bar in association with the Miami Downtown Development Authority will be handling casework to assist entrepreneurs “get back to work” in downtown, Brickell, and the arts & entertainment district. Students will have the opportunity to work hands-on with top attorneys in Miami and with the City of Miami in the exciting real estate industry. You will be trained to assist entrepreneurs learning from experts in the field. This work may include helping entrepreneurs with opening, expanding, changing their business use or legalize unpermitted business. If selected, you will learn from top attorneys in the field in helping local businesses in finding real world solutions. Students will watch a series of lectures, take a short quiz and be paired up with a business and an attorney. At the conclusion of the program, students will help entrepreneurs solve — or find the appropriate resources needed to solve any outstanding permitting issues. As a student, you will learn from the leading legal professionals all while building relationships along the way. You will receive a certificate of completion. We are excited to extend this opportunity to you.
